GEP

Jolene qualified herself to the second round of GEP selection.
She went for the selection test on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The questions are tough according to her.
She could not finish her maths papers!
Got hope? No hope?
I leave it alone.

If she is successfully selected for GEP,
she will need to transfer to a new school, which offers GEP.
She has an option not to go.
If you ask me; go or no go?
My say is go, of course.

Did it prepare her for the GEP?
Nope! I did even thought of that a bit though.
Until a week before the first screening test,
I did not realise that her GEP test is coming.
What I told her was a word of encouragement.

God gives you the ability to do well in your study,
do not be afraid of the competition.
Just do it and enjoy doing it when you are at the test.

I still remember that when I was at Primary 3,
I was the most notorious boy; both in my class and school.
I flung my P1 and P2 exam. There was no streaming then.
I got promoted automatically every year.

I started to work hard at Primary 4.
I climbed the rank in my class. Number 2 or number one.
This continued when I was in my secondary school.

At O level, I was among the top few students who scored
6 A1s and 2 A2s.

Jolene will still sit for the same O level that I took donkey years ago.
What result I will expect from her?
I will only tell her my story.
The daddy did not qualify for any GEP of that sort
but daddy has a burning desire to do well.

Of course GEP is not all about results, but PSLE and O level results count.
I heard there are many opportunities available to GEP students.
I want Jolene to have that opportunity if she qualifies.

God has a His own plan.
I am a custodian of His talent only.
Glory be to Him.
Jolene also knows this.
